Hereditary Patterns of the Human Character

Dome of the Rock, Jerusalem

I’m figuring out that my psyche doesn’t want to live in the world of earth life. Especially with the human species—the general, mean-spirited temperament, and the violent neural character of personality.

I watched more of the PBS series on Jerusalem. I saw a species living by the sword—using force, dominance and cruelty. It was a perspective from the pinnacle of dominance in tribal males, with the prerogative of killing others at will—impulsive, arbitrary murder.

Here there exists a continuous pattern of tribal invasions, subjecting those under attack to the will of the aggressor, and taking over territory to acquire power, control, and to access resources.

Jerusalem came about after the decline of Egypt, and from this vacuum Europe rose in its presence and power. Through military conquest Rome dominated in its attempt to control the world.

This atmosphere in the human social dialogue persisted throughout the regions for 5,000 years, more or less, as a universal cultural pattern. This is a reflection of the genetic social character of humans.

What is common about all these centuries, millennia, is authoritarianism, tyranny, despotism, brutality and cruelty.

A deep dive into the character of leadership, for the most part, informs us of common insensitivity about all but themselves. The masses were not of any concern, other than how many were present and able to fight in their wars of aggression. Other than that, ordinary people barely existed.  They were as important and expendable as goats. Ordinary people had no say, no place in the dialogue. Power was arbitrary, cruel, and insensitive in giving and receiving violence. The populace were dehumanized.

The common life stuff of Jeuresalem was a continuous battle in the actual living with life and death in fighting and conflict.

So, isn’t this still a core impulse among the majority of humanity? Doesn’t it reflect on the neural patterns embedded in the genetic chemistry of human behavior?

I saw something in the character of the divinely endowed Hebrew kings like Saul, King David, and others. The worst of them was Herod, the bastard king of the jews.

They reminded me of Donald Trump’s character. If he’d had the right to kill, there would have been piles of bodies during his reign

I was wondering where this genetic archetype came from. I now feel more assured that this ‘Herod’ archetype has been embedded in the male leadership gene of its tribal leaders since day one. It probably came from, and can yet be found in, the tribal life of the apes of present day.

It suggests to me that there is a genetic foundation in leadership and hierarchy that is at the core of social guidance, whose character is a tyranny of control and domination.
