In the beginning there is no eye to see.
From there to now the mind awakens in order to be
Able to observe and discover
Cosmic meaning.
And so biology
Sets about trying to watch Itself
To learn to look at what it is doing.
Not with large eyes yet
But close in vision for finding food
While growing a brain
Swelling in reaction and reflection
Opening new windows of new perception
Of what was seen in need.
Meanwhile in sleep began to dream
Random stories mixed up in parts
Born in tales of fear and hope
Good and bad, life and death
Seeking rest from the awakened state
Of feeding’s violent senses
Now even more confused about what is real
Inside and out
The eye awakened the brain with sight in both
But which is which?
Yet to be discovered in Time’s pace
Acquired in the experience of its place
In struggle’s feeding
As the self seeks nourishment
In the cycles of light
While the mind was dreaming in the night
Sleep resting from trauma and fright
Embraced the ego
Looked at itself
In victory’s rest or defeat’s failure
In a mirror of scattered reflections
Here the mind was born
To seek to understand what the eyes had seen
With the brain’s doing
In and out of the dreaming
It grew to see also
Into the mirror of the self
And there Cosmos found a brain
To bond with life
And guide it’s new eye
And discovered self
In growing a mind
In a new capacity
In naked matter reaching
In a new dimension of meaning
And guiding its purpose
Now it can reach beyond its organic home
And view existing’s purpose
And begin the next chapter in evolution’s story
Able now to reach beyond sight
Into knowing to fill the opened mind with light
With an Eye to hold open
To see and guide itself
In the universe of becoming
Now able to reach ever deeper
Into infinity’s dimension
Into meaning’s purpose of existing
And to continue creating evolution’s story
Into another dimension of itself
Yet unseen.
The creation of the mind
Has become the potential
In a biological outcome
In the neural hierarchy of the animal kingdom
Assigned to the human species
To gather the means to create the mind
As the way for Cosmos to See
And find the next step for the universe’s destiny
In evolution’s continuing history
Of life conscious of itself
In its experience in becoming
It is biological life on the Earth
That holds the key
To the Cosmic capacity
To reflect on itself and see
What it needs to create its own destiny
Through the creation of the human mind
With the purpose of serving the totality
Of every kind.
