Snowfall
It’s almost irresistible to watch
The fluffy white snow
Floating into the trees
Filling everything with the humility of white.
Stop, watch, feel
Feel the softness of its attitude,
Of movement and doing.
The calm blanketing of footprints
Vanishing in its falling.
Outside is looking for lost warmth
Waiting in the silent cold.
Breathe, stop, listen….
Time is creeping by.
Shops are dark, vacant, empty
One is gone
No commerce, no point
Shopping silenced
Dreaming in the nothing to do.
Red on white snow Coca Cola semi truck
Driving by,
Then yellow on white,
White on white, snow stacked
Cautious vehicles worried in careful.
As I watch from my window
At living art painting itself
And then passing by.
