Verbal Paintings…An Introduction

Greetings! My wish and desire is that you find my commentary both rational and interesting. I am seeking to discuss and express life from an informed rational viewpoint-distinguishing between observation and believing’s judgment. Judgment being the sport of killing rational observation. I seek openness, knowledge and acceptance of reality as it is, rather than like we want it to be. This is not to say that dreaming’s imagination isn’t creative. We not only must witness the madness, we must also seek to understand it with knowledge and acceptance when it is available.

I would love to interact directly with your questions, comments and suggestions but I am unable to do so. I am now 86 and much of my energy is taken up in sustaining my writing and my old body.

My practice consists of writing daily, in the early morning. I will do this until I am no longer able. This sustains my engagement in life and all its dimensions. I recommend that every thinking being do this. I usually sit down to write not knowing what I will write about. I usually leave the agenda open and simply listen after I start writing, then I write what comes into my mind. No rules permitted other than holding my mind open, withholding judgment, and writing down what comes. (kind of reverse logic)

My story, in part, is included in this collection I call ‘Verbal Paintings‘. I love words and let them flow into my mind. I see them as the same as paint an artist uses to create their images.

Stay open, stay aware, stay awake, stay accepting, stay calm in your living among 7.6 BILLION fellow zeros, just like you, just like me. Don’t forget to look into the nightmare as well. Life is a dance between both good and bad, meaning and ignorance, pain and joy, struggle and success. Living is a paradox in death and birth.

Thanks for listening, David
