I have grown quite dependent on this writing.
My task is to establish myself, my own identity in my consciousness and awareness, so as not to lose the origins of myself vs the other—which is the part outside myself.
This is an important distinction because it provides for my identity’s authenticity.
What I perceive is that ordinary people use, need, and want others to validate who they believe themselves to be.
I want to be recognized as someone who is aware of both himself and others.
The character and nature of the outside identity vs the inside is different as we all experience. But many do not distinguish themselves as different in their expectations and are often confused and conflated. Getting to a place of awareness and clarity about oneself is important to one’s development of self-realization and consciousness.
The conflation of social—think tribal—and individual, is rooted in the biological evolution of animals. In lower levels of evolutionary development—mostly where and when the individual loses tribal inclusion—it becomes incorrect behavior and rejects that which brings the tribe together in a collective identity that dominates in order to carry out the functions of collective behavior needed to sustain the survival of the group vs the single individual. This paradigm is embedded per various forces and patterns unique to each species. This gives the group its collective identity over all—with only minor variations in the general character of its individuals. It establishes the general conventions of behavior, both psychologically as well as in the physical form of the species.
No individuality could exist without this neural bond. There are aberrations and specific levels of skill, as well as limitations in the DNA varieties through breeding patterns in birthing’s evolutionary crap shoot.
This also produces exceptions and limitations to the standard patterns of genetic frame in reproduction. It should be noted the extreme aberrations are usually pathological and create social misfits and genetic failures. However, once in a while they can produce a new or different capacity or behavior that works out positively for the tribe by creating a more successful organic pattern in body and behavior.
I think the biological pathway from couple, family, clan and tribal group moves toward individuality, probably dependent on circumstance, and is one of those steps forward and upward towards what we call “higher” evolutionary development—meaning additional sensory and relational capacity that is never complete and continues in its evolving.
I sense that awareness of self is just beginning in the animal kingdom, through humanity, on its path to replacing mono-collective- organic group behavior into the organic as individuality.
The quest for responsible self awareness vs social conformity can be perceived in the history of humans more than other animal kingdoms, though there are indications of other animals with large neural matrices that follow rules that apply to individuality. None seem to have reached human levels in things like individual human rights, the rights of independence of a conscious individual, etc. At the present levels of collective control and domination there is a growing awareness of the tyranny of oppression common in tribal dominance based on arcane fantasies of feeling-based-beliefs of testosterone males.
The organic structure and dynamic at the tribal core of bonding with one’s own “kind” is losing its power of cohesion and revealing the delusions of “superior” validation.
This has become altogether disruptive to all the secondary social identities in global experience and vision. In addition, the self knowledge evolving in scientific studies of neural chemistry driven behavior—the neural character—and heredity of power-driven males gravitating to dominate others where the “other” is losing its “right” to hold a separate identity in contrast—compared to a conscious self awareness of itself.
This is all visible when witnessing the tribal glue coming apart in the influence of global communication, interactive movement, education, and economic exchange.
The self centered individuality is smothering itself in a culture of wealth, power and detachment from any identification with others. It is an exclusive detached lack of functional concern for the well being of the collective. This does not make for a promising or coherent future, neither can evolution reverse itself.
A social order without an enlightened individual brain, without a connected collective identity and based on feeling’s beliefs will continue to generate violent confrontation in the fragmentation of the collective social functioning. It seems leadership is that which is most lagging in evolutionary development and failing to bring leadership together with conscious individuality. Hang on!
